Just thought you might like to see that. I have two gracing my miniature cabinet!



This cluttered mass of paint, glue, cut up models and dried green stuff is my "workspace." I thought I'd share it with everyone. I need some background noise when I'm painting, so I often have the computer on playing music, (right,) or the telly (left.) Does anyone else, or is this just me? I've heard of people needing complete silence, but I am more distracted by the lack of noise, wierdly.

Above, you can see my daylight lamp. Generously donated by my dear old mum, this lamp has become indispensible in my painting - It also has a magnifying lense, as mum used it for lacemaking, which can be useful.

My winning certificates from the weekend there! Going to frame those I think.Got a Forge World Vraks poster there obviously, and some other crap. This is basically my "corner" where I'm allowed to hang posters, pictures or whatever - rest of the house is a diplomatic no fly zone with the missus.

Hanging off the desk i have a travel hair dryer, useful for quick drying especially with quicker army builds.

I have my paints arranged quite neatly at the moment, seperated into washes, foundations and base acrylics. (Obviously at the moment I only use citadel, but this will change soon)Normally they migrate across the desk depending on where I'm currently working.

I have a mixing tray liberated from the bitz box you can see against the back wall. On top of this is resting my wacom intuous 3 graphic tablet. I keep it up here out of the way of potential splashes and rough work -useful for designing and notes on new models I'm working on.

Things I keep out for regular use:
PVA glue
Citadel Water Effect
Liquitex matte medium
Basing sand, flock.
Superglue
Brush cleaner

Everything else is kept in the 6 drawer cabinet under the desk. Home to dust, back issues of white dwarf to around 1995, and model cases.

    I need either complete silence or headphones with constant music. Not very focused when people are talking within earshot, though strangely the painting sessions round peoples houses haven't been bad at all.

    I find silence distracting. Maybe its just being overinterested in my surroundings or something, or needing to be relaxed to paint, I dont know.

Some more little updates, well actually a pretty big one! Legs section - done! Finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnell on this one. Lots of grease, muck and oil on there, when everythings done I'll give it a light dusting of graveyard earth too for a finish of dust. Also worked on the right hand "shoulder" The soot needs thinning onto the yellow yet. Note the reconstructed plastic whittled spikes to replace the original resin ones which snapped off almost immediatley. I've got a small list of to do now, thank god - the sides of the body, with some hefty detail, fans, grills, pipes, icons etc, but its all hidden - done one side but the other still to do. The gun servitors inside the weapon shoulders, the carapace metalwork and spikes, rear of the engines and the underside of the weapon mounts. Lots of little bits, considering how much I've already done! (and have still to do, with its sister warhound...)

Fire Masters

  Four years between posts isnt a terrible average is it? In that time we've had a world wide pandemic, 2 presidents, 4 prime ministers, a new government, ok its been a while.  SO - recently I've been finishing off a Titan Legion, and returned to our gaming club - seem to have gotten some other people interested in the game, which is excellent. I chose the Legio Sutorvora, or Legio Infernus / Firemasters, a traitor legion known for their use of prometueum based weaponry. The Eternal Flame. No Bangles involved So my first titans...had no flame weapons. Thunderbirds are go

Weehee! can there be anything more fun than getting an unexpected package in the post? A package with Japanese mail posting all over it...big box, what can it be? Turns out its the newly released Aoshima 1/350 scale Thunderbird 2, which I pre-ordered in November and promptly forgot all about. I'm not going to get started on this one just yet with all the other work already going on, (see my last post,) but I thought I'd review the kit and contents for you. Shrink wrapped magic The kit itself comes with a hell of a lot of content. The craft itself, the iconic, original 60's TV series transport, is represented in 1/350 scale - but what really attracted me to it was the addition of all of the rescue craft too (not just Thunderbird 4 as usual!)
